HNC SUMMER SERIES: Orienting to death, dying, and grief as a very natural process.

June 15, 2024 - People in our culture often have difficulty integrating death and dying into their lives in an organic way. There is nothing more natural than dying, and yet people are often afraid of it. This fear is also often accompaninied by a fear of (and unfamiliarity with) nature.

Healing Nature Centers have a unique opportunity to use their facilities to help people get closer to their own nature by immersing themselves in the natural world.  Our next roundtable will explore the possibilities for HNC’s to present programs relating to living more comfortably with death and dying using the settings of our centers.

Robin Goff, a founding member of the Healing Nature Collaborative has a decade of experience working in the hospice movement before coming to The Light Center in Baldwin City, KS. The Light Center hosts retreats that combine learning about death, dying, grief, and healing on their 95-acre natural sanctuary.

Daniel and Ama will also discuss End of Life Planning Services, a program they are working on making available through Birdhouse.farm. The mission of this initiative is to consult with individuals interested in making end of life a more naturally integrated and aware process in their lives.
