Birdhouse.farm: A Healing Nature Center, Nature Refuge and, Research Farm.

Birdhouse.farm, is a unique destination where nature, community, and sustainable living come together. Birdhouse.farm LLC was established in 2021. We share opportunities for people to align their way of life with more sustainable processes, both internally and in the world around them.

Located in the heart of Stafford County, Kansas, our farm is more than just a place—it’s a vision for a better future. Our mission is to reconnect people with the natural world, support local economies, and create vibrant, thriving habitats that benefit both wildlife and humans.

At Birdhouse.farm, we believe in the power of nature to heal, inspire, and sustain. Our mission is to:

  • Promote Conservation and Environmental Stewardship

We are deeply committed to supporting and enhancing local ecosystems, including nearby Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. By restoring native habitats, creating wetlands, and cultivating sustainable landscapes, we aim to provide a sanctuary for wildlife and a place for people to reconnect with nature.

  • Support the Local Economy

Birdhouse.farm is dedicated to building a stronger, more resilient local economy. We work to promote tourism in Stafford County through our unique farm-to-table events, educational workshops, and outdoor activities. By providing spaces for camping, nature exploration, and wildlife observation, we’re helping to attract visitors and generate income that supports our community.

  • Connect People with Nature

We strive to create spaces where people can experience the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Whether it’s through a quiet walk in our wetlands, camping under the stars, or observing the vibrant wildlife that calls Birdhouse.farm home, our goal is to help people slow down, unplug, and appreciate the rich biodiversity that surrounds us.

What We Do

Wetlands Restoration and Habitat Creation

We are transforming parts of Birdhouse.farm into a diverse and thriving ecosystem, complete with wetlands, gardens, and native landscapes. These efforts provide critical habitats for a variety of species, including songbirds, dragonflies, frogs, and butterflies, and offer visitors a chance to witness conservation in action.

Sustainable Farming

Through our Sustainable Aquatic, Insect, and Fungi Farming Initiative, we are exploring innovative ways to use local water bodies for fish farming and increase the profit of local farmers through insect and fungi cultivation. This project aims to develop new sustainable food sources, reduce environmental impacts, and build local economies, showcasing how agriculture and conservation can work hand in hand.

Tourism and Community Engagement

We believe in the power of community and are working to make Stafford County a destination worth visiting. By hosting special events, workshops, and guided nature experiences, we invite people to learn, explore, and become part of the Birdhouse.farm story. From wildlife watching to hands-on conservation projects, there’s always something to discover here.

“Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”
